We have been developing bespoke e-commerce platforms for a number of years and our experience includes using the various payment gateways such as Barclays, World Pay, PayPal ABN Ambro Bank in Holland, HSBC, and Opayo formerly known as SagePay.
One of the more recent launches, in fact over a year ago is a website loosely arranged around Home Depot a DIY retail chain in the USA. Interestingly, that website denies access to attempts from UK IP's in my experience.
Currently it has over 4000 products on it, and when I say products some of those 4000 are the same product but available in different sizes and colours with respective variations in prices and product weight.
Core Dynamic Categories
There are six core sales categories, devolving to 39 subcategories and 51 tier three categories each of which include products supplied to the core business from multiple suppliers.
Products selected have other associated products with it "that we think you may like" and also on display is your recently viewed products.
Retail EPOS and Online Sales
We built this product for a company that has a bricks and mortar outlet and as well as an online presence.
The retail outlet scan the products at the till point and these are automatically deducted from the same stock level shared between online and depot sales, the depot also being the despatch unit.
Product Availability
If the product is out of stock or falls short of the quantity ordered by a customer, then the system stipulates the available amount and it is added to basket accordingly.
Stock Levels
The stock holding level is input as determined by the company and then the stock re-order point stipulated at which point if the current stock level goes below a certain point then an order request is automatically triggered.
The products can be updated individually or they can be updated by a global database template.
The website in question has multiple suppliers each with their own ID and barcodes.
Payment can be made on account online or by card payment or registered on account to be settled at a defined end of period.
