Never accept an unidentified .exe file

The latest scam doing the rounds;
If you get an email entitled "A new settings file for the yourname@yourdomain.com has just been released" then beware.
The content of the email goes something like this:
Dear user,
We are informing you that because of the security upgrade of the mailing service your mailbox settings were changed.
In order to apply the new set of settings click on the following link:
This link then takes you to a page in glorious Technicolor using the Microsoft logo and an invitation to download an .exe file.
Please don't click on it.
Any file with an .exe on the end of it is an executable file.
This installs a program on your hard drive with your permission and if you don't know what it is you could be inviting (as in this case) a lot of trouble.
A Mac has default settings, but windows will just load it up
In businesses with networked computers the network administrators have business rules implemented to automatically deny the installation of any .exe file not specifically approved by them, even if the computer user attempts to install it.
